EDFA has partnered with the Carer Gateway to ensure carers supporting a loved one with an eating disorder receive the support and assistance they need.
The collaboration will ensure families and carers of loved ones with an eating disorder can access tailored support services through EDFA and broader support services available through the Carer Gateway.
The Carer Gateway is a tax-funded program for carers, which offers a range of support services in each State and Territory through a network of Carer Gateway Service Providers.
The service is available at any time in a carer’s journey – whether you are new to the role or have been caring for someone for a long time.
The range of online and in-person services offered by the Carer Gateway complements EDFA’s specialised eating disorder related support for families and carers, and includes:
- Counselling
- Connecting with other carers
- Respite care
- Self-guided coaching
- Skills courses
- Practical advice about financial support for carers.
