Eating Disorder Organisations Say ‘The Time Is Now’ to Take Action for the Millions of Australians Impacted
Eating disorder carer charity calls for urgent support on World Eating Disorders Action Day today. On World Eating Disorders Action Day, the only national eating disorder carer organisation says funds are urgently needed to raise awareness of the impact eating disorders have on families.
The Nourish, Nurture, Notice program, a collaborative project between Eating Disorder Families Australia (EDFA) and The Embrace Collective, will provide a unique education experience for parents and carers with an aim to reduce the increasingly high rates of disordered eating amongst children and adolescents.
A free counselling program run by Eating Disorders Families Australia (EDFA) has run almost 2,500 sessions for carers of those with an eating disorder since it launched in late 2023, and the Fill The Gap program is now available to help many more as the number of people living with the disease climbs to more than one million people nationwide.
