What The Service Includes

  • A Carer Support Pack with essential resources and guidance to help parents and carers during their loved one’s hospital stay and beyond.

  • Hospital Liaison Volunteers (recruitment commencing shortly) to provide support, comfort, reassurance from those who understand

     

  • A contact point for parents and carers to learn more about other FREE services that EDFA provides to carers as you care for a loved one during and after a hospital admission, including:

    – Private Online Carers Support Groups to help you connect with others who truly understand your experience.

    – Fill The Gap Counselling provides free, on-demand support from lived-experience professionals who understand the carer journey, ensuring your well-being is supported as you care for your loved one.

Meet our Brisbane-based Hospital Liaison Officer

Marianne Edmonds is EDFA’s very first Hospital Liaison Officer. She brings a unique mix of professional experience and personal insight to her role. Marianne walks alongside carers during one of the most distressing and uncertain times – when their loved one is admitted to hospital for eating disorder treatment – to provide support, information, and education to help families feel less alone and more prepared for the road ahead.
